foodagogik is an independent nonprofit research institute dedicated to leading Indonesia in its transformation toward more sustainable food systems. Our work lies in gathering, producing, and communicating research on the inextricable links between food-climate-health, and in promoting disruptive interventions and policies that support emerging transitions across all three domains.

Our Mission

  • We advance, synthesize, and disseminate knowledge across scientific, local, and Indigenous epistemologies to illuminate the interlinkages between food systems, environmental sustainability, and human health, and build an evidence base that is contextually relevant and culturally sensitive.

  • We foster cross-sectoral, multi-scalar, multi-stakeholder collaboration across the food systems to build collective commitment and co-create solution pathways, with a deliberate focus on elevating the voices and agency of marginalized and vulnerable populations.

  • We cultivate a new generation of Indonesian food systems scientists, leaders, and changemakers equipped with the knowledge, skills, and wisdom to navigate complexity, drive innovation, and lead the transformation toward more sustainable food systems in Indonesia.
